- Take 3 1/2 cup flour
- Prepare 1 tspn sugar
- Take 250 g cold butter

- Prepare 1 cup diced carrots
- Prepare 1 cup diced potatoes
- Make ready 2 1/2 cup minced meat

- Prepare 1 tblspn curry powder
- Get 1/2 tblspn thyme
- Get 2 diced scotch bonnet
- Get 2 seasoning cubes
- Get 3 tblspn of oil
- Prepare 3 sliced garlic
- Take Pinch salt

- Make ready 1 tblspn corn flour/flour
The pie came out tasting almost exactly like the ones we used to make! I added a pinch more salt and a little allspice to the recipe, also a teaspoon of poultry seasoning along with the sage that this recipe called for. I have saved this recipe and will continue the old tradition of meat pies for Thanksgiving and New Years Eve. Some time ago, when I was working at a newspaper, a co-worker happened to bring a meat pie for lunch.
Instructions to make Meat pie:
- In a bowl add flour add sugar, salt, baking powder and mix well add cold margarine/butter and mix until crumb like texture, add water little by little kneed well until it forms a dough, then refrigerate the dough for 1 hour.
- After 1 hour, take out the dough kneed again and roll it with a rolling pin and take out round shape
- Add 1 tblspn or 2 your fillings in the round shape dough, egg brush the edges and cover it. Continue doing the same for the rest of the dough until you are done
- Pre heated your oven 150 degree place the meat pies in a baking tray egg brush them and bake until it's cooked
- For the fillings, In a pan add veg. Oil add onions stir fry for 2 mins in a medium heat, add minced meat, curry, thyme, salt, garlic, scotch bonnet and seasonings stir fry for 3minutes
- Add water, potatoes, carrots then cover until it's cooked. in a cup add 1tblspn of flour add little water stir well and add it in to the mixture to thickens the fillings. Then it's ready to be enjoyed.😋
